Who am I????
Hello GwenPal!
How are you—
If you’re unfamiliar with me or my work, it would probably be hard to understand the point of this blog. So let’s get introductions out of the way.
Hi! I’m Gwyn <3
I’m a copywriter, copy editor, and poet (there are probably a few other titles I’m missing in this description, but I’m honestly too tired to scan my LinkedIn right now).
My favorite topics to write about are gender and sex, gaming, spirituality, and poetry (of course) among many, many other topics. It’s hard to stick to just one niche, y’know?
I’m currently an undergrad working to get my Bachelor’s degree. Major? Psychology. I plan to get to PhD eventually, although I doubt it’ll be the only field I get a degree in (coming soon: Religious Studies). Academia is truly my first love ❤️
When I’m not indulging in academic or literary affairs, I often find myself crocheting, playing video games, or watching cat videos. Kinda lame, I know, but you’re here for my charming personality, not my tantalizing excursions, okay?
I’ll keep this one short and simple for now, considering you’ll be hearing from me within the next two weeks. Distance makes the heart grow fonder and all that.
All That.
That reminds me of a show I used to watch on Nick @ Nite when I was younger (and still had cable). I could not tell you for the life of me a single episode from that sketch-com (all of that space in my long-term memory is taken up by clips from Kenan & Kel—great show—curse you, Dan Schneider).
I love that theme song. I attribute it to the soul/r&b trend for TV kid’s shows going on in the ‘90s/early ‘00s—you know, That’s So Raven, Proud Family, Kim Possible, those songs. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that these were some of my favorite shows. The songs still have their place among my Spotify playlists (the “full song” versions, which I like a little less than the theme song versions).
Oh, right. About me.
The point of this blog is just to test myself, see what I can do, and track my growth. A lot of being a freelancer is talking about yourself and what you’re good at. I don’t have much experience in that, so this newsletter is my attempt at becoming more confident in my skills and broadcasting them.
But enough of me (for now).
You’re probably waiting for something special, aren’t you?
Like a link to a course? Or a free pdf?
Aw, man, I didn’t think of that. Now I feel bad. I mean, you just read through this whole letter and have nothing to show for it? Dang.
I’ll tell you what…
Since you dedicated so much of your precious time to reading about me, now I wanna know about you:
Just a fun little poll to (hopefully) make you smile ❤️
But that’s all I have for now. Until next time!
Your GwenPal,
Gwyn Yvere.
